VIDEO PRODUCTION.

I'm a two-time Emmy award-winning and two-time Telly award-winning video producer, skilled in all facets of video production, including writing, directing, editing, graphic design, and shooting. I can produce product showcases, in-house tutorials, typography videos, web videos, full commercials, docuseries, and more.

With more than 16 years of experience as a promotions producer in several newsrooms, I create compelling visuals under tight deadlines.

Documentary Filmmaking

I co-produced, co-wrote, and edited the Telly award-winning and multiple International and National Film Festival award-winning Let The Music Play*. This feature length film documents the crushing effects of Covid-19 on the live music industry. I also created several vignettes to help with organic growth.

It is also available for streaming under the title When The Bands Stopped Playing: First-Hand Accounts Of Artists During COVID-19. The film was recut with a different format and also won a Silver Telly Award.

*The film is available on Amazon, AppleTV, Pluto, and Google Play.

Let The Music Play

Rock Axson was a fun project for a local Montessori school in Jacksonville, FL. I partnered with the parents and teacher to create a behind the scenes look at a play the kids were putting on.

All the funds raised were going to Hunger Fight, a local charity that provides meals and books to kids. They would be there the night of “packing meals” and the play was a musical concert. It really was alot of fun!

TV News Marketing Promos & Commercials

Below is a collection of promos from my TV News Promotion Producer career. Each topic highlights my skillset to help you get a better idea of my creativity, growth, and editing abilities.

Emmy Award-Winning News Package

I was asked to edit my first and only “sweeps” or “TSR” report package after the special projects editor quit. The script was powerful—written by a reporter who had been covering the story of conjoined twins before they were born. I was proud to edit Born Together, Forever Apart: The Journey of Carter & Conner, and honored when it won an Emmy.

Sound Design

Sound design is crucial for making videos come to life. From lighting and thunder to adding a drum track, cymbals, and a riser to a song that was just strings, sound design is one of my favorite parts of editing. This Sound Design Video showcases what music and sound can really do for a spot video.

Editing

Editing is my passion. Whether I’m working from a script or putting together something on the fly, I love the challenge of creating something unique. In this Editing Video, I worked with green screen footage, created a fun graphics promo for our morning show (I did all of the graphics), and, of course, there is one my favorite sports promos I wrote, produced, and edited.

Storytelling

Every great promo or commercial starts with a story, not a script. This Storytelling Video is a collection of promos that showcase my ability to write creatively for both fun station image promotion and investigative promos.

Graphic Promos

In TV News, multi-tasking is a must. I worked with two station groups that did not have a graphics department. I learned to animate graphic elements from stock libraries and even created my own from time to time. These Graphic Promos show a mix of those skills.

App Promos

The best part of my job was the creative opportunities! We were always launching apps or updating features, and creating unique promos each time was a challenge. Here are three of my favorite App Promos.

Cold Opens

Jumping in to help news is par for the course in a TV newsroom. While Cold Opens were always day-turns (and sometimes a one-hour turn), I loved the challenge. I treated them like dramatic trailers, because chances are the topic was serious or breaking news. News wrote them, but I produced and edited them for air.
